Using plastic bags to keep a cast dry

To keep a cast (or splint) dry, cover it with 2 plastic bags, and tape each bag – separately – to the skin with duct tape. In young children, you can use rubber bands instead of tape. This is because removing the tape from the skin can be painful for children.
