Stage IIA non-small cell lung cancer on CT and PET

An axial CT scan through the chest (A) shows a 4.2 cm stage IIA squamous carcinoma in the right upper lobe (arrow). Image B shows an FDG avid mass (arrow) without FDG-avid metastatic disease. The relative lack of central FDG avidity suggests necrosis of the tumor.
