Frozen shoulder: Limitations in movement

The photographs in the top row show common movement restrictions that are found with frozen shoulder. Note how the affected left shoulder is limited in external rotation (A), abduction (movement away from the body) (B), and internal rotation (C), compared to the unaffected shoulder (photographs D, E, and F). Photographs A, B, D, and E show passive motion (controlled by the doctor, not the patient).
