(A) Low magnification of a skin punch biopsy demonstrating clusters of tightly packed spindle cells within the papillary and reticular dermis.
(B) High magnification demonstrates "cannonball" configuration of the short spindled endothelial cells lining small vessels. Extravasated red blood cells and platelet microthrombi may be present.
