Ruptured Meckel's diverticulum on CT

Ruptured Meckel's diverticulum on CT
This 21-year-old male had a surgically proven ruptured Meckel's diverticulum. The nonspecific CT findings include induration of the omentum (arrow) with bubbles of free air noted in the subumbilical region (arrowhead) suggesting a ruptured viscus. A thick-walled bowel loop with contrast in the lumen noted in (C; short arrow) was thought to represent a focal region of abnormal small bowel and likely represented the ruptured Meckel's diverticulum. Free fluid is noted in the cul de sac (dashed arrow).
CT: computed tomography.
