MRI of non-retracted partial tear of hamstring tendons

MRI of non-retracted partial tear of hamstring tendons
The MRI of the thighs using Fast STIR sequence in the coronal plane (A, with arrows in same image B) reveals a fluid collection (arrow) in the proximal insertion of the hamstrings on to the ischial tuberosity (arrowhead). The dashed arrow points to the hamstring tendon. These findings demonstrate a high grade detachment without gross retraction.
MRI: magnetic resonance imaging; STIR: Short-TI Inversion Recovery.
