Kyphosis caused by osteoporosis

Kyphosis is the medical term for when the upper part of the spine curves forward, causing the back to look rounded or hunched. The most common cause of kyphosis in adults is osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones. This picture shows a young woman on the left who does not have kyphosis. The woman in the middle is starting to show signs of it. The oldest woman on the right has kyphosis caused by osteoporosis.
