Normal voiding

Normal voiding
Illustration of urodynamics during normal voiding. Initially, the bladder neck is closed. After the command to void, the external sphincter opens, as shown by the relaxation of sphincter activity in the electromyogram (EMG). Meanwhile, the detrusor muscle of the bladder contracts, to cause urine flow. The process is reversed to stop urine flow.
