Overall benefit of carvedilol in heart failure

Kaplan-Meier analysis of event-free survival (survival without hospitalization) in patients with chronic heart failure who were maintained on digoxin, diuretics, and an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor and then treated with carvedilol or placebo. Therapy with carvedilol was associated with a 38 percent increase in event-free survival.
