Extrarenal pelvis

Longitudinal sonogram of the right kidney. The extrarenal pelvis (arrow) appears as a dilated proximal ureter. The absence of calyceal dilatation and the fact that the remainder of the ureter is not dilated distinguish this as an extrarenal pelvis.
