Brain MRI in a patient with mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I, Hurler-Scheie syndrome)

Brain MRI in a patient with mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I, Hurler-Scheie syndrome)
A sagittal T1-weighted MRI of the brain in a patient with Hurler-Scheie syndrome. The ventricular system is prominent. Numerous white matter cysts (representing accumulation of GAG around vessels) are arrayed along the gray-white interface of the cortical white matter and within the corpus callosum and other white matter tracts.
MRI: magnetic resonance imaging; GAG: glycosaminoglycan.
