Types of parastomal hernias

Four types of parastomal hernias:
(A) Subcutaneous - bulges into the subcutaneous tissue.
(B) Interstitial - burrows into a muscular plane.
(C) Peristomal - enters the space between layers of prolapsed bowel.
(D) Intrastomal - enters the plane between the emerging and the everted part of the bowel forming the ostomy.
