* Zubrod (ECOG) performance status at the onset of treatment. A score of <3 is seen in a patient who is either asymptomatic or symptomatic and is in bed <50 percent of the time. A score of 3 or greater means that the patient is symptomatic and in bed >50 percent of the time.
