The combination of a statin and a bile acid binding resin is more effective than either alone

The reduction in LDL cholesterol concentration and the increase in HDL concentration is greater with the combination of a statin and a bile acid binding resin, given as cholestyramine, when compared with therapy with either drug alone. The effects of both drugs decline exponentially with increasing doses.
