Median predicted survival of patients with cystic fibrosis
This chart depicts the birth year on the x-axis and median predicted survival for that birth cohort on the y-axis. The median predicted survival for a given birth year is the age at which one-half of the those born that year are predicted to survive beyond, given the age distribution of deaths that occurred during that specific year and assuming no future changes in mortality rate. Statistics from 1940 to 1978 are collected from Davis et al[1]. Statistics from 1990 to 2021 are collected from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Patient Registry[2].
