Fibrous dysplasia of the proximal femur with shepherd's crook deformity

Fibrous dysplasia of the proximal femur with shepherd's crook deformity
A radiograph of the proximal femur shows a shepherd's crook deformity caused by fractures sustained over the years. Irregular, marginated, ground-glass lucencies are surrounded by reactive bone. The shaft has an appearance that has been likened to a soap bubble.
