Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy
Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy
In laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy, three small incisions are made in the abdomen. The laparoscope is inserted through these incisions. The uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina. The top of the vagina is then sewn together. The ovaries and fallopian tubes may also be removed (called salpingo-oophorectomy) at the same time.
