Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Appearance of gastric ulcers on upper GI series

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Appearance of gastric ulcers on upper GI series
Upper GI series performed in a patient with intractable epigastric pain demonstrates severe manifestations of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome with 3 different-sized ulcers (arrows) in the wall of the stomach. The patient had a high fasting serum gastrin concentration consistent with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and a small duodenal wall gastrinoma was identified at surgery.
