(A) 12-year-old boy who noted poor vision in the left eye over the preceding 2 months. His visual acuity measured 20/20 RE and 20/100 LE. Toxocara serum titer (ELISA) was positive at 1:4. Ophthalmoscopic photograph, left eye. Note the deep, subretinal white mass with surrounding hemorrhage, lipid, and retinal edema. (B) 8-year-old girl with a Toxocara lesion adjacent to the optic disk, with overlying vitreal inflammation. Visual acuity measured 20/25 RE and 20/100 LE. Ophthalmoscopic photograph, left eye. There is a white mass over the optic nerve head. Also, note the significant vitritis associated with the mass. White, fingerlike projections from the white mass extend into the peripheral retina.
