Effect of estrogen dose on change in bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women

Effect of estrogen dose on change in bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women
Mean percentage of change from baseline in lumbar spine (L1-4) BMD measured by DXA. Placebo (diamonds), esterified estrogens: 0.3 mg (squares), 0.625 mg (triangles), 1.25 mg (circles). BMD changes at all timepoints and at all esterified estrogen doses were significantly different from those occurring with placebo use.
BMD: bone mineral density; DXA: dual x-ray absorptiometry.
