Cerclage placed after trachelectomy

Cerclage placed after trachelectomy
Simple trachelectomy is defined as partial surgical removal of the cervix; the procedure is performed through the vagina. A permanent purse-string (cerclage) can be placed at the lower end of the uterus or remaining cervix, depending on the amount of cervical tissue left after the trachelectomy, to improve future obstetric outcomes.
