(A) Plain radiographs (after one week of swelling and pain in the calf) were initially interpreted as normal.
(B) A plain radiograph obtained four days after the initial films demonstrates periosteal reaction and cortical thickening.
(C) T1 weighted magnetic resonance image with gadolinium demonstrates enhancement of the fibula marrow space and surrounding soft tissues.
