Use

Topical treatment of superficial infections of the skin including folliculitis, impetigo contagiosa, furunculosis, sycosis barbae, ecthyma, pyoderma gangrenosum, infectious eczematoid dermatitis, pustular acne, pustular psoriasis, infected seborrheic dermatitis or contact dermatitis, infected excoriations and bacterial super-infections of fungal or viral infections (FDA approved for ages >1 year and adults)

• Sensitization: Topical use has been associated with local sensitization (redness, irritation); discontinue if sensitization is noted.

• Long-term use: Not intended for long-term therapy.

Interferes with bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S ribosomal subunit resulting in a defective bacterial cell membrane
