Cervical chordoma
Cervical chordoma
Transverse axial (A) and sagittal (B) T2-weighted MRI demonstrates a markedly hyperintense and multilobulated extradural mass that extends into the cervical central canal and compresses the spinal cord (arrow). T2 hyperintensity is typical for these tumors, which are composed of vacuolated physaliferous cells. On precontrast T1-weighted MRI (C), chordoma is hypointense, and on the postcontrast image (D), it demonstrates heterogeneous and faint enhancement.
