  • Reflux is defined by total valve incompetence in the defined segment.
  • Reflux points are not assigned above the common femoral vein.
  • Reflux means that all the valves in that segment are incompetent.
  • The maximum reflux score is 10.
  • Increasing scores imply more severe disease.
  • The venous segmental disease score for reflux is a tool to help objectively follow patient response to clinical management.
