Patient survival at 1, 5, and 10 years after transplantation (2000 to 2017)

Patient survival at 1, 5, and 10 years after transplantation (2000 to 2017)
(A) 1-year, (B) 5-year, and (C) 10-year patient survival percentages are displayed in the figure panels. Patient survival after a deceased-donor kidney transplant reached new highs in the most recent cohorts of transplant recipients. Adjusted 1-year patient survival among deceased-donor transplant recipients in 2017 improved to 95.4%, adjusted 5-year patient survival among recipients in 2015 improved to 79.7%, and adjusted 10-year patient survival among recipients in 2013 improved to 49.2%.
Adjusted 1-year patient survival among living-donor transplant recipients in 2017 was 98.8%, adjusted 5-year patient survival among recipients in 2015 was 88.0%, and adjusted 10-year patient survival among recipients in 2013 was 61.5%. As with graft survival, patient survival after 10 years is at an all-time high.
