If your child has sickle cell disease, you will need to watch them for certain problems that can be serious. Your child's doctor will tell you when to call the office and when to call for an ambulance. Get help if your child has any of the following: |

- A bad cough, trouble breathing, or chest pain
|
- Changes to the size of the spleen
|
|
- Possible signs of a stroke, such as severe headache, weakness, or trouble speaking
|
- Extreme tiredness or looking very pale
|
- Pain that is not helped by medicine
|
- An erection that lasts longer than 4 hours
|
