Fibrin sheath associated with jugular venous catheters
Fibrin sheath associated with jugular venous catheters
The chest radiographs demonstrate the appearance of fibrin sheaths associated with two separate central venous catheters (A: right internal jugular catheter; B: left internal jugular catheter). The catheters have been pulled back so their tips are just beyond access entry site, and contrast has been injected to demonstrate the fibrin sheaths (arrows) extending beyond the catheter tip.
