Subtotal cholecystectomy

Subtotal cholecystectomy
(A) A subtotal fenestrating cholecystectomy leaves the neck of the gallbladder open, although the cystic duct may be closed from within the lumen by a purse-string suture.
(B) A subtotal reconstituting cholecystectomy closes the neck of the gallbladder by sutures or a stapler.
