These vaccine regimens are for individuals who did not receive pre-exposure vaccination. Refer to other UpToDate content for details on post-exposure prophylaxis in individuals who have already received anthrax vaccination.
* A dose-sparing regimen of anthrax vaccine adsorbed can be used if the supply is not sufficient to allow standard vaccination for all exposed individuals.
¶ Vaccine can be administered intramuscularly if subcutaneous administration poses significant challenges that might delay or preclude vaccination.
