Decrease in oxygen uptake efficiency slope in heart failure
Patients with heart failure or pulmonary vascular disease may demonstrate a less efficient oxygen uptake relative to ventilatory capacity, as seen by a decreased slope of VO2 versus logVE.
VO2: measurement of oxygen uptake; VE: minute ventilation.
