Needle tip visualization

The angle of needle entry can affect the ease of needle visualization during dynamic ultrasound guidance. A steep angle of entry (A) can make it more difficult to see the needle, particularly in the subcutaneous fat. If the operator is having difficulty identifying the location of the needle tip, tilting the needle to a more horizontal orientation will improve needle visualization (B).
