REBOA deployment in pelvic trauma

REBOA deployment in pelvic trauma
A young male involved in a motor vehicle accident had persistent hypotension in spite of blood product resuscitation. The chest radiograph and FAST exam were negative, but plain pelvic radiographs showed bilateral superior and inferior pubic rami fractures. REBOA was placed in zone 3, and the patient was transported to a hybrid operating room for pelvic angioembolization.
REBOA: resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta; FAST: focused assessment with sonography for trauma.
