DAS28-CRP   score

Decimal precision

DAS28-CRP interpretation

DAS28-CRP <2.6: Remission
DAS28-CRP ≥2.6 and ≤3.2: Low disease activity
DAS28-CRP >3.2 and ≤5.1: Moderate disease activity
DAS28-CRP >5.1: High disease activity

Notes
  • In the hands, the joints that are evaluated include the 1st through 5th MCP joints, the IP joint of the thumb, and the 2nd through 5th PIP joints.
  • In addition to assessment of the joints of the hands, the following are also assessed: wrists, elbows, shoulders, and knees.
  • The GH or Global Health parameter represents the patient's self assessment of disease activity on a 0 to 100 scale where 100 means maximal disease activity.
  • A DAS28-CRP reduction by 0.6 represents a moderate improvement. A reduction by more than 1.2 represents a major improvement.
  • Classification of disease activity using the DAS28-CRP may differ from that using DAS28 and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).
  • CRP: C-reactive protein; IP: interphalangeal joint; MCP: metacarpophalangeal joint; PIP: proximal interphalangeal joint.

Equations used

DAS28-CRP = 0.96 + (0.56 * sqr(Tender joint count (TJC))) + (0.28 * sqr(Swollen joint count (SJC))) + (0.36 * ln(CRP + 1)) + (0.014 * Global health (GH))

Only digits 0 to 9 and a single decimal point (".") are acceptable as numeric inputs. Attempted input of other characters into a numeric field may lead to an incorrect result.
