Grade* Description of injury
I Contusion
II Laceration involving only cortex (<2 cm)
III Laceration extending into medulla (≥2 cm)
IV >50% parenchymal destruction
V Total parenchymal destruction (including massive intraparenchymal hemorrhage)
Avulsion from blood supply
