Management of wound dehiscence over total knee arthroplasty

Management of wound dehiscence over total knee arthroplasty
The pictures show the management of a patient with an infected total knee arthroplasty. Four weeks after the procedure, the incision site evidenced drainage and was opened. Following debridement of necrotic tissue (A), a medial hemigastrocnemius rotation flap was performed to close the defect (B), over which a skin graft was placed to provide coverage of the muscle. The appearance of the healed wound is shown (C).
