Healing of radiated-induced chronic leg wound

The pictures show the management of a patient with a chronic wound following excision and radiation treatment for invasive squamous carcinoma of the left lower extremity five years before presentation. The anterior tibial tendon was exposed (A). Following 20 days of daily hyperbaric oxygen therapy, surgical debridement, and open wound dressings, the wound began to heal (B).
