Alternating leg muscle activation on polysomnography

Alternating leg muscle activation on polysomnography
This figure shows a 30-second epoch of a PSG in a patient with alternating leg muscle activation (ALMA). The PSG shows that ALMA duration is between 100 to 500 milliseconds (dashed box), with an EMG burst frequency range of 0.5 to 3.0 Hz. A single ALMA episode represents four movements that alternate between the legs.
EOG: electrooculography; EEG: electroencephalography; EMG: electromyography; ECG: electrocardiography; PSG: polysomnography.
