Leg cramps on polysomnography
This figure shows a 30-second epoch of a PSG in a patient with sleep-related leg cramps. Sleep-related leg cramps can occur in any sleep stage. Leg cramps are defined by the actual spasm or hardening of the muscle during sleep, with pain typically relieved by forcefully stretching the muscle.
