Superman shoulder and scapular exercise

Superman shoulder and scapular exercise
The exercise shown is used to strengthen the rotator cuff and scapular stabilizing muscles. While holding a light dumbbell in each hand, the patient places their belly on a physio-ball in a prone position. Next, the patient braces their abdominal muscles and brings their arms to a position of 90 degrees of shoulder abduction and external rotation, with the elbows flexed to 90 degrees, as if they were performing an overhead press. The patient then presses the dumbbells by fully extending their arms outward, ending in a position resembling Superman's flying position. Return to the initial position by retracing the arm-path.
