Use: Labeled Indications

Hemorrhoids, anorectal pain/itch: Temporary relief of burning, irritation, itching, and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids; protects inflamed, irritated anorectal surface to help make bowel movements less painful.

Protectant (topical products): Protective coating for mild skin irritations, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and abrasions; soothing and protective ointment to promote healing of chapped skin, diaper rash.

Pregnancy Considerations

Zinc oxide is not expected to be absorbed systemically following topical administration to healthy skin (Newman, 2009). Systemic absorption would be required in order for zinc oxide to cross the placenta and reach the fetus.
