Comparison of endotracheal tube tips

Comparison of endotracheal tube tips
The tip of the ETT can affect the ability to pass the ETT through the vocal cords. The tapered tip on the ETT designed for use with the intubating laryngeal mask airway (A) and the bull nose tip on the Parker Flex-Tip ETT (B) are both designed to facilitate passage of the ETT through the vocal cords, compared with the beveled tip of a standard ETT (C). The tip of the standard ETT tends to catch on one of the vocal cords, while the other two do not.
ETT: endotracheal tube.
