Warnings/Precautions

Concerns related to adverse effects:

• Iron toxicity: For products containing iron: Severe iron toxicity may occur in overdose, particularly when ingested by children; iron is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children; store out of children's reach and in child-resistant containers. Adult preparations may contain amounts of iron which should not be used in children.

Disease-related concerns:

• Pernicious anemia: For products containing folic acid: Doses of folic acid >0.1 mg/day may obscure pernicious anemia with continuing irreversible nerve damage progression.
