  • If you do need to use convenience or processed foods, read the labels. Choose items with 140 to 200 mg of sodium per serving.
  • For an entire convenience meal (frozen dinner), try to find options with less than 500 to 600 mg of sodium.
  • If you used canned foods, look for those labeled "sodium-free." Or you can rinse the canned food under water to lower the sodium content.
