MASCC risk index score interpretation

 
21 to 26 points: Patients at low risk for medical complications and those for whom outpatient management with an oral empiric antibacterial regimen may be safe and effective.
0 to 20 points: Patients at high risk for medical complications. High-risk patients require hospital admission for IV antibiotics and often require a prolonged hospitalization.
