Stimulus control instructions for chronic insomnia
  1. Go to bed only when sleepy.
  1. Use the bed and bedroom only for sleep (and sex).
  1. If you are in bed and unable to sleep, get out of bed and return only when sleepy. Typically, this is within 20 minutes.
  1. Get up at the same time in the morning regardless of how much sleep was obtained.
  1. Do not nap during the day.
